The period of participation can span anywhere from 1 to 13 weeks. For volunteers, interns, and students, Engage in Germany’s program flexibility is designed to work around their schedules, with programs being available year-round (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter) and starting and ending dates up to the participant’s choice!
What Do I Get While I am Volunteering in Germany?
Volunteering in Germany, specifically at Engage in Germany, will provide you with the following:
- A daily breakfast at the Center.
The center organizes a daily breakfast that starts at 9:30 am, where all volunteers and interns join together before they start their volunteer work. Participants can also prepare a traditional breakfast from their home country.
- Three hours of Arabic or German classes per week.
Volunteers get also three hours of either Arabic or German. Arabic includes either Modern-standard Arabic or Shami Arabic including Syrian or Palestinian dialects. These lessons will be taught by one of our teachers at the center.
- Staying with a local host family or in a shared room in the city of Halle.
Our female volunteers stay with a host family in the city of Halle, where they experience the daily habits of the family. Our male volunteers stay in a shared room in the city of Halle.
- Participating in the Centre’s social and community activities.
Engage in Germany organizes various social activities, including BBQs, dinners, movie nights, games, and much more.
- A tour of the city of Halle Saale to get to know the city and its history.
The center organizes a tour of the city of Halle, where participants get to know the history of the city and the most attractive landmarks, including Handel House, Martin-Luther University, Museums, Halloren Chocolate Factory, and many others.

The program includes a language course (3 hours of German per week), responsibilities as an English Teacher, housing, logistical help, breakfast 4 days a week, and an immersive experience in our community in Halle. The program can last between 1 and 13 weeks, as you decide for yourself. Winter Volunteer Programs
Engage in Germany offers winter volunteer and internship programs which start from October to late March for the people who would like to come to Europe to volunteer, study a new language, and meet new cultures and people. Volunteers and interns can stay from 1-13 weeks.
